Stephen was a Certified Public Accountant and practiced accounting before entering the practice of law. He is a frequent speaker and author in the tax area. He was a primary drafter of the 1983 law that exempted from the Indiana Gross Income Tax nearly every closely held corporation. He concentrates his practice in estate planning, estate administration, taxation and business transactions. He has authored tax articles in Commerce Clearing House, Indiana Business and The Indiana CPA. He is a member of the Indianapolis Bar Association and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
